Congratulations to our two new Snow Queen Supreme
title holders and to all of our 2017 Royalty!
This pageant is always
meaningful, as we gather together to not only have a fun day, but to raise
awareness and funds for those with Alzheimers.
However, this day, moreso
than past Snow Queen pageants meant even more to me personally. It was exactly 3
months ago to the day, that I had to give a final hug to my mother, Bobbie. She
was the founder that started this pageant system, and her passion to empower
young women was evident in all the years she was at the helm of West Coast
Pageants. It was Alzheimers that slowly stole the fiesty, classy, spitfire of a
lady that I was privileged to call Mom. She is the reason this pageant was
started, and is a benefit for the Alzheimers Association. There was so much I
wanted to say on Sunday, but my emotions would have gotten the best of me if I
tried. I was surrounded by my pageant family on the day she took her journey to
Heaven and again today, 3 months later. Perhaps she had that planned, as she
knew I would need to keep busy to keep the pain at bay. So thank you to all that
helped make this day a success and for your generous support for this charity.
You helped to make the day special and brought smiles to my heart which held off
the tears a little longer. Let's continue to fight this disease and hopefully
someday find a cure.
Love to you all.
